Maria Cadaval and the International Projection of the USC Ibero-American Chair

The Universidade de Santiago de Compostela has strengthened its international vocation in recent years through initiatives such as the Ibero-American Chair, a space for academic, institutional, and social connection between Europe and Latin America. Leading this project is Professor María Cadaval Sampedro, whose academic and managerial career has been key to its development.

Holding a PhD in Economics with European mention and an extraordinary doctorate award, María Cadaval has built a solid career in the field of public finance, with a specialization in fiscal federalism, decentralization, and regional and local financing. As a Professor of Applied Economics at USC, she combines research with extensive institutional engagement and knowledge transfer activities. Her participation in key forums such as the Galician Economic Forum, RIFDE, and IDEAGOV has provided the Chair with high-level technical insight, further reinforced by her collaboration with international organizations such as the IDB and ECLAC.
